Looking back on the earliest dated posts, I feel wobbling like a jelly and suppress a lot of giggles...And to be particular, I'm clueless why the first post seems so funny after reviewing it after nearly a year, it just reminds me that I had just tip-toed in as a quite new member because we get so many new born bloggers everyday, I was unaware of the realm of publicising my thoughts and feelings where people could comment and you could just read trough the feedback and know what people feel looking right inside your mind!
Blogging undoubtedly helps you become more transparent, and is an oblivion to a number of other things you can shout out loud, and now, after a multitude of swithces from blogger to wordpress and vice-versa, I do think in presentation wordpress falls behind, becuase if you fall in the category of those who are more bent on the asthetic side, like me, blogger is a good option to opt for, but when you want to trademark your ip address as solely yours, blogger is a no-no.
Also, blogger templates are much easier to upload. (after unzipping the xml of course)
In the end..you decide though...(I find blogger templates cuter and in a wider array of colors and graphics)
Considering widgets....that's not a problem in either case I think..
Anyways...ramadan kareem to all..
:)
Even if everyone at my paternal home is swinging to the now very renowned beats of dhan ta nan, I humbly sit down for another nonchalant post..
So...what's on??
Pointless to ask..nothing of importance really, onset of festivals begins!!!
Hmm.....still can't believe that there is more than a month left to my blog's anniversary :'(
But still time did fly!
And I'm gonna have another set of oh-so-bad exams soon..so, Ive bought a couple of reference books to look up so that I don't flunk on a few stupid questions which I could have answered if I had studied my portions properly.
I also need proper fuel for it!
You know what I'm silently wishing for...ice-cream!!!
My very sweet (literally) comrade lands itself in every post..lol!
But, I have (thankfully) eaten an awful-awful (about two weeks ago, *sigh), dark chocolate actually is a whole lot of good for your body, including your heart! <3
It was a disputed topic in my family a bout a year back but now....referring to several promising sources, it really works wonders for you..(esp for chocoholics like me)
For people who are currently feeling dreary and wanna check out some site that will end up making their tummy growl..this is from brighthub.com :)
Health Benefits of Chocolates
Although chocolates are known more for their rich taste, there are also many benefits of eating chocolates. With a high cocoa content, dark chocolate is a great source of flavonoids, gallic acid, and epicatechin, and so is thought to be very good for the heart. Here are some other key benefits of chocolates:
1. Chocolates may be good for your heart:
Preliminary research studies claim that chocolates and other cocoa products may have circulatory benefits. A study presented at the American Association for the Advancement of Science’s claimed that eating flavonoid-rich foods, including chocolate, ensured low risk of cardiovascular diseases.
Dark chocolate contains higher amounts of flavonoids than white chocolate. However, this cannot be true for chocolate syrups and processed cocoa powder since their manufacturing process removes such antioxidants.
2. Chocolates lower LDL cholesterol:
Studies have suggested that eating dark chocolate can reduce bad cholesterol (LDL cholesterol). An Italian study published in the August 2005 issue of the Hypertension Journal revealed that eating dark chocolate can lower LDL cholesterol levels by 10 percent. In a study, Pennsylvania State University researchers have also found that people who consumed flavonoid-rich dark chocolate have higher levels of good cholesterol compared with people in the control group.
3. Eating Chocolates may lower your blood pressure:
One of the key benefits of eating chocolate is having a very healthy blood flow. Cocoa contains a substance that processes a compound called nitric oxide. This substance helps in maintaining healthy blood pressure and blood flow.
Moreover, the flavonoids in chocolates prevent blood clots as they do not allow fatty substances in the bloodstream to oxidize the arteries.
4. Chocolates may lessen anxiety and give you an energy lift:
Eating a bar of chocolate may lift your mood. Many researchers confirm the anti-depressant qualities of chocolates. A study conducted on 3,000 subjects by the Black Dog Institute found that almost 45 percent people with depression improved their mood after having chocolates. The main component behind chocolate’s anti-depressant properties is serotonin, a neurotransmitter. Chocolates also stimulate the production of endorphins, which can induce feeling of pleasure. Scientists have found that the endorphins and opoids in chocolates makes people feel less anxious and worried and makes them relaxed.
5. Chocolates are rich in Antioxidants:
The high flavonoid content in chocolate, particularly dark chocolate and cocoa powder, can not only relax blood pressure, but also may protect your body from aging. Dark chocolate contains a large number of antioxidants compared to strawberries. A study conducted by researchers of the University of Scranton confirms the high antioxidant content in chocolates. Flavonoids (or flavonols) in chocolates act as antioxidants and fight against free radicals.
Some of the scientific terms may tip you off and make you feel like you shouldn't have started reading the post in the first place....hmm..you've read at you own risk..
